Zapora Złotnicka Złotniki Lubańskie

Zapora Złotnicka w Złotnikach Lubańskich, usytuowana 103 km od ujścia Kwisy, w malowniczym otoczeniu powyżej Jeziora Leśniańskiego, to historyczny zabytek inżynierii. Pierwotne prace przy jej budowie rozpoczęto w trudnym okresie powojennym w kwietniu 1919 roku. Pomimo wyzwań, takich jak brak włoskich fachowców zatrudnionych przy budowie podobnej zapory koło Leśnej, miejscowi robotnicy i wiec społeczny przyczynili się do zakończenia projektu w 1924 roku.

Inwestycja, kosztująca 2,1 mln marek w złocie, korzystała z surowców dostarczanych przez pobliski kamieniołom, a cement sprowadzano aż z Opola. Zapora Złotnicka była kluczowym elementem planu ochrony przeciwpowodziowej Pogórza Sudeckiego i stanowiła czwartą tego typu inwestycję na Dolnym Śląsku. Dziś jest nie tylko ważnym obiektem technicznym, ale także malowniczym miejscem, gdzie historia spotyka się z urokiem przyrody.
