Żnińska Kolej Wąskotorowa

     Żnińska Kolej Wąskotorowa to linia o szerokości toru 600 mm w województwie kujawsko-pomorskim, która łączy Żnin z Gąsawą przez Wenecję i Biskupin. Została zbudowana w 1894 roku i początkowo prowadziła w trzech kierunkach, obejmując Ośno, Ostrówce oraz Obiecanowo. Charakterystyka wąskiego toru umożliwiała niższe koszty budowy i łatwiejszą eksploatację w trudnym, pagórkowatym terenie.

 

      Mimo że pierwotnie kursy pasażerskie zlikwidowano w 1962 roku, linia została reaktywowana jako turystyczna w latach 70. XX wieku. W 2002 roku samorząd powiatowy przejął ją, przekształcając w Żnińską Kolej Powiatową, a w 2020 roku zmieniono nazwę na Żnińska Kolej Wąskotorowa.

 

     Kolejka cieszy się dużym zainteresowaniem turystów, a w 2016 roku przewiozła rekordowe 113,2 tys. pasażerów. Obecnie dysponuje dwoma czynnymi parowozami, w tym jednym historycznym oraz współpracuje z Muzeum Kolei Wąskotorowej w Wenecji, tworząc ważny element Szlaku Piastowskiego.
